Some of the best adventures I have ever had, happened right here in Southern Thailand. I’m talking monkeys on beaches, the biggest water gun fight on Earth, and witnessing the most breathtakingly beautiful sunrise of my entire life.
Let’s kick off with the most unique adventure of them all:
1. Play With Monkeys In The Phi Phi Islands
This one is wild, and I thought I had seen it all. I’ve visited swimming piglets on beautiful white sand beaches, I’ve even swam amongst sharks in the Bahamas, but never in a million years could I have imagined I would be playing with a monkey on a beach! Some things you just have to see to believe.

2. Lounge In A Lagoon On Hong Island
This maybe isn’t as crazy as monkeys on the beach, but don’t underestimate how unforgettable this adventure truly is! Hire a longtail boat and take a day trip to Hong Island, exploring the lagoon first thing in the morning at high tide, passing by the inhabited cave, and spending the afternoon relaxing on the gorgeous Hong Island beach eating fresh pineapple and sipping on cold coconuts.

3. Chase Rainbows On A Longtail Boat At Sunset
It was one of those perfect sunny, blue skies, dark rain cloud kind of afternoons, where it simultaneously showered and shined, creating the most magical rainbow to appear before our very eyes. We were aiming to catch the sunset amongst the beautiful landscape of limestone islands, and we got wayyyy more than we bargained for: the perfect rainbow. Ever get that feeling that a raincloud is following you? Maybe it’s just trying to show you a rainbow.

4. Dance As The Sunrises Over Phang Nga Bay
This was a pinch-me-am-I-still-dreaming moment. I will never ever forget it. Yes, it began with a 4am start and only 1 hour of sleep to my name, and yes it was a 1.5 hour drive to get there. But also yes, it was hands down the most majestic scene of my entire life. The soft pink light emerging from the sea, slowly revealing a sea of jagged limestone islands against a sorbet colored sky took my breath away. If you appreciate natural beauty of any degree, this is simply a must do.

5. Pretend You’re A Bond Girl at James Bond Island
I have to admit, I never even saw the movie. But, I can’t resist discovering a new destination, and Phang Nga Bay gave me 42 reasons to fall in love, each limestone island as gorgeous as the next. Coming from the Caribbean, I am not new to islands, but these limestone cliffs were soooooo strikingly different than anything I’ve ever seen before, it was truly mesmerizing, and definitely worth a full day’s visit.

6. Engage In A Water Fight With The Locals In The Songkran Festival
The Songkran Festival is a celebration of the Thai New Year. What better way to celebrate than by engaging in the world’s largest water gun fight? I think we should celebrate everything in life this way! This was certainly the most unique and fun cultural festival I have ever experienced. Most importantly, there was not a single mean spirited person in the crowd – everyone was smiling and simply having the time of their life! This goes down as one of the best days I’ve ever had.

7. Paddleboard Amongst Spectacular Limestone Cliffs
It’s not every day I have the opportunity to paddle board through these surreal landscapes. If you saw my IG story though, you saw that the ocean is filled, I mean FILLED, with jellyfish at this time of year. Luckily, there was not a ripple in the sea, and it was a gorgeous, fall-free experience to paddle board during sunset amidst this spectacular view.

And last, but not least, drink coconuts. Lots and lots of coconuts!!!
Hydration is key when visiting a warmer climate, especially during these humid, sticky, hot summers! What better way to stay adventure-ready than to have a few fresh coconuts a day? In Thailand, you can find them everywhere! (p.s. be sure to cut the coconut in half and eat the delicious meat inside!)

I hope your next adventure through Thailand is STUNNING!!
