Balancing ripped denim with a tailored vest, rock stud details with bubblegum pink, and army green with leopard print, today is all about playing with edgy and sweet. Not overly masculine and not overly feminine.

I am usually all dolled up while running around NYC for meetings and events, and I was craving a change. I love my earth tones: the camels, rusts, burnt oranges, and olives of the world. Especially in head-to-toe monochrome, but that’s another story for another day. Inspired by this gorgeous Theory Sleeveless Coat, today is about this color combo to try: Army Green and Candy Pink.

The earthy, tough, subtle, army green is the perfect canvas to let the ultra-sweet, bold, hot pink shine. I believe opposites attract, and I quite like the juxtaposition between the style and color of the individual pieces. The very tailored vest is in army green and the bubblegum pink shoes are rock studded. Balance these colors with tried and true classic pieces: a white shirt, blue jeans, and Ray Bans. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, top it all off with a leopard clutch!

How do you wear your army green?

P.S. I have been in love with these Rag & Bone jeans ever since I spotted them at Intermix (loooove this store!) and have styled them many ways, like here and here. They’re not soooo ripped that you feel like you’re being, well, ripped off. And they hold up super well in the wash!
