Caribbean Blue

In my heart, I am truly an island girl, and I permanently crave turquoise seas and palm trees. Maybe everyone does though?

I wish I was home more often.

I’m happiest when I am soaking up the serenity and natural beauty that defined my childhood.

Oh, the warm sunshine and Caribbean blue skies…absolute heaven.

I love the quiet moments in the morning, just as the sun begins to peak over the mountains, golden rays revealing the lush tropical forest that is

our island

our paradise

our home.

In an instant the world lights up with beautiful colors painted across the sky and the birds begin to sing sweet songs.

Peaceful and rejuvenating. The perfect way to begin the day. That, and coffee.

At around 6am I make coffee for the family, catch the sunrise from the balcony while snuggling my pups, then pop down to The Bistro for a bagel (but usually a cinnamon roll).  It’s the perfect way to start the morning with loved ones and see a few familiar faces along the way.

What is your favorite morning routine?

On the weekends, I love grabbing a latte and gourmet grilled cheese (yum!) at Polly’s at the Pier in Frederiksted, heading down to Butler Bay with my two pups, and reading a book while they explore the beach. Pure bliss.

Simplicity is the essence of island life.

Endless supply of white tees, slip on sandals, denim shorts, local jewelry, and your fave sunnies.

Maybe you match, maybe you don’t, but no one seems to mind. The sun is shining and we are always appreciative.

Shop one of my favorite casual looks by Joe’s Jeans x Susana Monaco (top on sale here!). I keep raving about the fabric from Susana Monaco in my post: Twin City, and her silhouettes are incredibly flattering.
