Good morning and Merry Christmas!!! Today is always a special day for our family, and we are so happy to be spending quality time together this holiday season! Last night, we spent a beautiful Christmas Eve preparing our favorite hors d’oeuvres, unwrapping our Christmas morning pajamas, taking a gorgeous Victorian Christmas Stroll in the Henry B. Plant museum, and ending with soda floats at our favorite village diner.
With the smell of fresh coffee and candy canes in the air, we woke early to bake gingerbread cookies and sing Christmas carols together while decorating our gingerbread people in cute button-down pajamas. As is our Christmas morning breakfast tradition, we popped some cheesy, sausage biscuits and gooey cinnamon rolls in the oven to munch on while we opened our stockings and gifts under the tree. Of course, the coffee was ever flowing!
For the rest of the day, we plan on watching fun holiday movies, like Elf, cooking our Christmas dinner with our favorite family recipes, and then driving through our neighborhood looking at holiday lights and decorations.
It’s already been such a beautiful morning here spending time with my mother, brother, and lifelong best friend – time together that we all cherish as we’re typically all in different directions during the year – and as I grow older, I savor these picture-perfect moments more and more, not just because our pajamas are perfectly coordinated with our wrapping paper, but because I am ever more thankful for these sweet moments filled with laughter, joy, and the true holiday spirit.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season from our family to yours!!!
