Sun bathing in gorgeous swim wear, poolside with long embroidered kaftans, and dinner under the stars in flowing maxi dresses. Resort wear is my absolute favorite! When it comes to chic island style, I love to play around with patterns, colors, and textures.
I’m totally head over heels! As summer approaches we’re all keeping an eye out as gorgeous swimwear emerges from our favorite designers. I love to have a range of bikinis in my wardrobe, a staple being the strapless bikini. But how difficult is it to find that perfect strapless bikini?! One that stays up, provides support, and above all is insanely flattering!
Laser cut outs, faux suede, and fringe detailing, oh my! I’m getting excited just talking about it. I adoooore this rich burgundy hue on a swim suit, or really on anything! I’m naturally drawn to jewel tones, regardless of the season, and burgundy is one of my all-time favorite colors. It feels earthy and regal, and looks incredible on sun kissed skin.
Transition is definitely in the air. The tulips and pink cherry blossoms are slowly opening their eyes after a long winter’s nap, hinting that spring is finally amongst us. I can feel the anticipation and excitement building up to shed our heavy winter coats and bring out the fresh floral and lacy white looks we all adore.
Something about Puerto Rico makes me feel confidently beautiful… Maybe it’s the language, maybe it’s the music, maybe it’s the entire culture. The first Miss Universe competition I remember seeing was in 2006, the year Miss Puerto Rico Zuleyka Rivera won the crown. I was inspired by her beauty and self confidence. I believe it’s essential to feel confident in swim wear, and who better to celebrate this with than local Puerto Rican designer Alexandra Escudero, the creative mind behind swimwear line Bienteveo en el Mar.
Atlanta holds a special place in my heart as I spent my school summers and college years here. I have fond memories of hiking up Stone Mountain and watching the laser light shows, spending weekends at Lenox mall, going to the music and art festivals in Piedmont Park, and eating my way through delicious ethnic restaurants on Buford Highway. (If you’re in Atl, you have to try the roti canai at Penang and the black beans and rice at Havana!)
