Thereโs no place like home.
Iโve been around the world and the one place that continues to capture my heart again and again is the tiny, emerald island of St. Croix.
Home Sweet Home. Weโre only a mere 28ร7 miles, but weโre a charismatic, vibrant, and proudย people.
Weโve been nicknamed โTwin Cityโ for our two quaint and charming towns: Christianstedย andย Frederiksted, both withย colorful architecture reminiscent of our diverse cultural history.
Itโs a funny thing about traveling, it causes us to vividly recall and reflect on what we love most about our homes. What do you love most about your home?
For me, itโs the easy, carefree days spent with loved ones and appreciating everything our island has to offer. Every corner I turn, every familiar place I visit has layers of memories. ย Iโve walked down the same roads as aย 5, 15, and 20 year old.
In the islands is where it all began.
Itโs my solid, unchanged foundation thatโs made me who I am today. I reflect on the immense growth Iโve made and the goals I have for the future.
The beauty of travel is we quickly get to become the person we want to be. ย We are faced with situations that test and build our patience, adaptability, and courage. When we return home, we find it all looks a bit different. Not because our home has changed, but because within us, we have grown.
How has your travel experienced helped you?
Life is a journey that is always moving forward, but in the rare moments when we can relive our past, it reminds us the incredible progress weโve made โ and yet we walk down the same, unchanged cobblestone pathway.
